The Idea

Era is a set of 15 MaxForLive plugins specifically designed to enhance workflow for assembling Launchpad performances in Ableton live. It is the first plugin set to completely integrate Interactive Mapping for MIDI and audio clips.

How To Use

However you want! There's no real one way to use this plugin set. You can use one plugin, or all of them. If you only want one of these plugins, you can download it by clicking the image next to its description. These plugins are compatible with other plugins to the best of my ability, such as Kaskobi's Practice Mode and Mat1jaczyyy's Multi Reset. The Third Edition also brings compatibility for Amethyst.

Lightspeed Mapper

The ultimate breakthrough in project assembly, Lightspeed Mapper is an all-in-one solution for light effect naming, exporting, and mapping. Compatible with Lightspeed and Kaskobi's Midi Launcher.

With Mapping enabled, you can press the 'Play' button to preview the currently selected light effect.

NOTE: Currently in beta for MacOS/Ableton 12. Not supported on Linux.

Lightspeed

The continuation of MIDI FXt Rack, Lightspeed lets you load MIDI clip lights in a drum rack format, complete with flip, rotate, and other transforms for every single effect, as well as a Channel system which lets you send the light to one of 8 Receiver channels.

Supersonic

A re-creation of Ableton's Drum Rack in MaxForLive, specifically tailored for standard sampling. Features 8 Choke groups and fade in/out options for each sample. Enable Mapping Mode to automatically map selected samples on the Ableton Timeline using your Launchpad buttons. This plugin shows up in Ableton under the Max Instrument folder.

Cycle

A simple solution to multi-sampling. Cycle length up to 96, as well as a Unison mode to trigger all notes at once. Works best when used before a Supersonic or Lightspeed device to hold clips.

Cycle Lights

Simple light effect multi-sampling. Simply set your cycle length, and drag your lights into the proper slots, and your light effects will cycle through when the device is triggered with a MIDI note. Now features a Unison mode, which triggers all contained clips at once.

Cycle Samples

Simple multi-sampling. Works exactly the same as Cycle Lights, but requires you to crop your samples in Ableton (Right Click -> Crop Clip(s)) to work properly. Features Supersonic's Sampling Mode as well as a quick-fire button to sample the entire cycle length of back-to-back clips.

This plugin shows up in Ableton under the Max Instrument folder.

ERA Controller

This plugin serves as a manager for your pages and triggers for the project. In the Bus mode, you are able to edit the settings for your project, including autopage, MIDI triggers to stop Ableton playback, and more.

Also includes an ERA Sender and Receiver device for moving MIDI around a project file.

ERA Channels

An easy way to send MIDI to anywhere in the project. ERA Sender is capable of acting as an ERA Output, and ERA Receiver can output the light effect preview from Lightspeed Mapper.

Borealis

A simple velocity-to-velocity remapper. Create a custom Velocity chart by selecting which velocity you want to change on the top knob, and set which velocity you want to change it to on the bottom knob. Using the 'Listen" feature, you can use the Spectrum plugin to select your velocities. Conversions are saved if the top knob is moved, so one Borealis device is capable of remapping the entire Velocity range.

Fader

Works similar to other fade plugins, however keeps the device width the same. Fader also displays which velocity colours are used in the plugin, reducing the need to remember velocity colours or playing back the fade to make sure your colours are right.

You can set colours using the Listen button and Spectrum.

You can also select whether to control your fade by the time that each colour stays lit, or by the length of the entire fade itself.

Input FX

A quick and easy way to filter individual notes, single-taps, double-taps, and long-taps. To activate a module, just click the name at the top to highlight it.

Output FX

A quick and easy way to access flip, rotate, fader, edjer, and more transforms in a single plugin. To activate a module, just click the name at the top to highlight it.

Spectrum

Used to display velocity values for projects using custom palettes. Also acts as a colour picker for Fader and Borealis. You can select between the Default Ableton palette, a Custom palette, or the Legacy/Launchpad S palette. The Custom palette by default is the 314Dragon MXOS Palette. Includes an optional secondary layout which may help with readability for some palettes.

Time Travel

Our ERA-native solution to automatic page swapping. Choose between Local(channel-exclusive) and Global(all channels) switching.

When in Global mode, this plugin only affects tracks which use ERA Controller, rather than affecting all tracks, allowing devices on non-performance tracks to be unaffected by Macro changes.
